Spice Up Your Business With A Website Makeover

Published by Angel at 1:05 pm under Advice, Business Edit This

When your own life starts to feel a little bland, that means it is time to shake things up a bit. It could be as simple as rearranging your office, or treating yourself to a special day. So what do you do when your business starts to get that feeling?

Prep it for a makeover!

Put a little spice back into your business website by giving it a makeover. With Thanksgiving just under 2 weeks away, take on a fall theme. Marketing your business around holiday themes can actually help boost sales.

Keep in mind I said spice up, not change out. You don’t need to overhaul your website if you feel like undergoing a little change. Implementing a few small changes might be just what your website needs to regain a little spark. You might be surprised at how a little rearranging of images and links can refresh your look.

Here are some other makeover ideas you can use the next time you feel like spicing up your business site:

  • Dress up your logo.
    • I am sure you know what I am talking about. Google does it every holiday. If you have a simple logo then add a little spark as each holiday approaches by dressing it up a bit. It helps if you have a graphic designer on your payroll, but if it is possible then this idea might be something you will enjoy taking advantage of.
  • Move things around.
    • Your website might trademark your business and if you change it too much, that might ruin the impression you had made. If it is the color theme, there is still quite a bit you can do without losing that special edge that is distinctive to your business. If it is a special layout design, doing small adjustments can tweak it enough to turn it into something that is refreshing and new.

By moving things around on the page, you can offer a new format without losing recognition in the process. Times change, new ideas are born every day, and you should move with it. Just take care with each movement so you know your brand will stay intact.

  • Brighten things up with a new color theme.
    • Like I mentioned above, the color theme might be the base of your brand when people visit your website. In that case, changing the colors might be a bad idea. However, if that is not the case, changing the colors around can bring a sense of that ’spice’ to your website.

Some online stores feature a new product each week or each month. If you want to keep things shaken up, change the color theme with each new product feature. Maybe you could match up those colors so they mesh well with the colors used within that product. Make it fun, and make sure it is pleasing to the eye.
