When Should You Put Your Business On Hold?

The other day I was thinking about this exact question, “When should I put my business on hold?” I took a vacation from most work, and it was wonderful. During that week I regained some sense of me and enjoyment for what I do. I also learned how boring it is when I am not working. But my question goes deeper than that. At what point should you stop the growth of your business so you can concentrate on family?
Many women have started businesses that have grown into monstrous corporations. That simple ’so I can stay home with my baby’ turned into a full time venture which left no real free time for many of these women. Other women waited until their children were in their teens or out of the house before taking a chance on their own business. When their business takes off, they have the opportunity to throw themselves in full force because their children don’t depend on them nearly as much.
When should you push pause?
When you feel overwhelmed! If your business grows faster than you, there will be problems. However, that doesn’t mean you should shut yourself down. This might be the perfect time to take everything to the next level and hire employees. Thankfully the benefit of having an employee can far outweigh the strain on your budget. Especially if you find the right hard working, loyal individual to take over the reins when you need time with your family.
