Why Google Can Help Your Biz Save Money - Day 1
It has long since been known that Google is one of the big hitters when it comes to search engines but they offer so much more. For businesses with a low budget or that are just getting started, Google also offers a handful of services which can help people fill their needs without the price tag.
The most obvious thing that Google has going for it is the ability to keep your files under your account, online. Computers crash and important files get lost, however, you can get away with reaching important files from any computer when you have them saved off-site.
So what are some of those services you might be able to use? Here’s a quick list with a short description on what it can do for you:
- Notebook
- Calendar
- Docs
- Groups
- How often do you find yourself surfing the web and wanting to save a quick clip from a page you’re reading? Writers will find this the most useful. If something inspires an idea within your mind, getting a clip to refer back to once you are ready to start writing will help spark your inspiration at a more opportune time.
- I have to admit that I don’t use their calendar. I prefer Toodledo but this is a Google inspired post and I had to include their calendar. It’s actually a great option for someone who only needs a day-to-day calendar rather than a day-to-day to do list.
- Almost everyone knows about Google Docs. If you don’t have Microsoft Office to work with, Google Docs is a handy online alternative that you can work with. For Open Office users, you can also upload your files to Docs for saving or continued editing at a later date.
- Are you looking to create a community based around your business? Would you like to set up a mailing list? Google Groups can help. It may not be the most professional set up but it won’t hurt if you are just getting started. If anything, it’ll simplify the process. Sending out one message to a group is much easier than having to send the same message to dozens of email addresses.
