I think it is about time for another day of rest… although this time it isn’t much rest.
The next time you take a day off to spend it with your family, attempt to juggle! You regularly juggle your business and family life, why not spend some time with your family to learn how to juggle for real? If you have a teacher within your community, take the family for a lesson and see what you can do. However, if not, you can also buy books and movies which will show you those tricks to juggling.
Nothing creates a feeling of closeness like spending time with your family in an attempt to learn something new. Although juggling is just one idea, it gives you a chance to stand and work at something that continues to be fun try after try. This is also an activity that can keep your older children interacting with any of your younger ones if you have a family made up of a wide age span.
Even if you think juggling won’t be much fun, just give it a moment of your time. Watch your kids come to life with you as everyone starts tossing and dropping items all over the house.

With it being Friday, I thought it would be nice to end the week with another addition to the Day Of Rest series. Today’s day of rest idea:
Learning A New Language
But why should you learn a new language?
- It’ll keep your mind working, while giving you something other than your business to concentrate on.
- It can be fun!
- If you ever need to talk with a customer that doesn’t speak your language, you can put your own knowledge to good use!
- You’ll be forced to walk away from your business and do something for yourself.
If learning a new language sounds more like work than fun to you, maybe you should find some other route to go. However, if you are open to giving it a try - you should!!! For this day of rest, spend an hour or two going over some of the basic words and lessons related to the language of your choice. If you enjoy yourself, turn this learning hour into something you can do a few days a week.
Every mompreneur needs time for herself. Running a business and taking care of the children can put a lot of strain on you. If learning a new language is a hobby you think you’d enjoy, run with it! Sit down with that how-to book or those how-to tapes. Speak along with the taped voice. Butcher the pronunciation of a word if you feel like it. Enjoy yourself, educate yourself, and you’ll find that this time really has been put to good use.

I am always saying you need to set up a work schedule as well as a break schedule so you can walk away and do something with your kids.
Well, many mompreneurs don’t have young kids. For many women, their children might be tweens or teens. They don’t depend on you nearly as much as a toddler does, but it is not good to work all day without spending a little time with your family.
The best way to make it work? Pull out a fun game that the whole family can enjoy! From charades to monopoly, there is a game for everyone. For those families that are too large (or too small) for the traditional board game, check out your alternatives. Uno is a great game that can be played by a family of any size. Where 2 people would only need one deck, larger families can buy 2 or more decks as needed.

If you’d like to keep your sanity, it’s important to take at least one day off from your business. By stepping away from all of your work and letting it slip from your mind once a week, you’re giving yourself a chance to recharge. You also get the opportunity to do something with your family!
For Our Day Of Rest today, the subject is Movie Night. Movies are great for bonding with your loved ones, and it gives you the opportunity to watch something new.
Depending on the age of your kids, movie night could be something that you all enjoy together by going to the movie theater. If you’re on a budget or your children are too young for a theater setting, you can always rent and celebrate movie night at home.
